TEMPORARY TRAVEL DOCUMENT (TTD)
The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin advises all Cambodian nationals that expired Cambodian passports cannot be renewed or extended, and the Embassy does not issue new passports. If you need to travel back to Cambodia under such circumstances, you must apply for a Temporary Travel Document (TTD).
What is a Temporary Travel Document?
- A paper-based document (not a passport) issued by the Embassy to Cambodian nationals.
- It serves as a single-use travel document to enter Cambodia.
- Valid for three (3) months from the date of issue, after which it cannot be used for further travel.
What can Apply?
Cambodian nationals traveling back to Cambodia under the following situations:
- Expired or Nearly Expired Cambodian Passport
- Lost or Stolen Cambodian Passport

When to Apply?
Applications should be submitted at least two (2) months before your intended travel date to allow sufficient processing time.
Processing Time
- 3 working days for standard processing.
- Processing times may vary depending on the completeness of the application and supporting documents.

You can submit your application through one of the following methods:
- Walk-in Submission: Visit the Embassy during office hours with all required documents.
- By-Post Submission: Send your complete application package via post to the Embassy address. You must include a prepaid self-addressed return envelope for the return of your documents using a secure mail service with a tracking number to avoid loss, delay, or damage to your documents.

What happens if my TTD expires before I travel?
You must apply for a new Temporary Travel Document if the validity period (3 months) lapses before your intended travel date.
Can I use the TTD for travel to other countries?
No, the TTD is valid only for one-way travel to Cambodia.
Do I need a visa to enter Cambodia with a TTD?
No, a TTD allows Cambodian nationals to enter Cambodia without a visa.
