National Assembly of Cambodia

The National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia

The National Assembly is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Cambodia, serving as the lower house, with the Senate as the upper house. It is composed of 125 Members of Parliament (MPs) elected by party-list proportional representation for five-year terms.

The National Assembly is led by the President, currently Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sodary. The seventh National Assembly began its first session on 21 August 2023.

The current National Assembly traces its origins to the Constituent Assembly, which was elected during the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC). Following the 1993 election, the Assembly adopted Cambodia’s new constitution and was renamed the National Assembly after the Constitution’s enactment.
