On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia hosted a vibrant celebration of Sangkrant (Khmer New Year), welcoming approximately 280 participants, including members of the Cambodian diaspora and around 90 foreign guests. The festivities featured traditional Cambodian games such as Boh Angkunh, tug-of-war, scarf hiding, and leaf snatching. Guests enjoyed a communal feast and danced in a lively and joyous atmosphere filled with unity, warmth, and camaraderie.

On March 31, 2025, at the Embassy of Myanmar in Berlin, His Excellency CHHEANG Thyra, Ambassador, signed the book of condolences dedicated to the victims of the tragic earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025. The earthquake resulted in the loss of many lives and caused extensive destruction to infrastructure.

On March 28, 2025, His Excellency Ambassador CHHEANG Thyra attended the 102 nd   Anniversary of the German-Asia Pacific Business Association (OAV) in Hamburg, presided over by His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal President of Germany. During the event, His Excellency Ambassador held brief discussions with several German business representatives, sharing insights on investment opportunities and tourism potential in Cambodia.

On 12 March 2025, H.E. Ambassador Chheang Thyra welcomed His Excellency Chittipat Tongprasroeth, the new Thai Ambassador to Germany, for a courtesy call at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia. During the meeting, Ambassador Thyra highlighted the achievements of the Royal Embassy of Cambodia during its six-month chairmanship of the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), which concluded in February 2025. He emphasized the role of the committee in strengthening solidarity and fostering a unified voice among ASEAN Embassies in Germany. Both ambassadors also exchanged views on key regional and international issues.

On 9 March 2025, His Excellency Ambassador CHHEANG Thyra attended a meeting hosted by His Excellency HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism. The meeting brought together Ambassadors, Permanent Representative s, and Consuls General of Cambodia abroad to discuss enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector. After the meeting, His Excellency Ambassador also paid a courtesy call on the Minister.

On 18 February 2025, His Excellency Chheang Thyra, Ambassador, chaired the 5th Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC) Meeting and officially handed over the Rotating Chairmanship to the Embassy of the Lao PDR for the next six months starting in March 2025.

On 28 January 2025, His Excellency CHHEANG Thyra, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Rotating Chair of the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), hosted a Farewell Dinner in honor of Her Excellency Dr. Adina Kamarudin, Ambassador of Malaysia, and His Excellency Dr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, Ambassador of Thailand, on the conclusion of their respective terms in Berlin.

As Chair of the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), His Excellency CHHEANG Thyra, Ambassador, hosted an ASEAN-ROK Working Lunch on 19 December 2024. Attended by H.E. Sang Beom Lim, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, and the 10 ASEAN Heads of Mission, the working lunch featured discussions emphasizing the ASEAN-ROK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the ROK’s commitment to increasing ASEAN-related contributions, and the remarkable growth of bilateral trade. Participants also exchanged perspectives on other relevant regional and international matters and other significant issues.

On 12 December 2024, at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia, H.E. Ambassador Chheang Thyra received a courtesy call from Mr. Han Thein Kyaw, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Berlin. As the current Chair of the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), the Ambassador provided an overview of the committee, emphasizing its role in fostering solidarity and a unified voice among ASEAN Embassies in the host country. In addition, H.E. Ambassador reaffirmed Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to supporting peace efforts for the people of Myanmar, reflecting the spirit of ASEAN family.

On 10 December 2024, His Excellency Ambassador CHHEANG Thyra paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Frank Hartmann, Director General for Asia and the Pacific at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. During the meeting, the Ambassador highlighted the longstanding friendship and dynamic cooperation between Cambodia and Germany, and expressed gratitude for Germany’s continued support of Cambodia's socio-economic development across various sectors. Both parties discussed opportunities to further strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in trade and investment, and exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues.

On 19 November 2024, His Excellency CHHEANG Thyra, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Rotating Chair of the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC), hosted a Farewell Lunch in honor of His Excellency Arif Havas Oegroseno, Ambassador of Indonesia, and Mr. Kyaw Htin Lin, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of Myanmar, on the conclusion of their respective terms.

On November 5, 2024, His Excellency Khuon Phon Rattanak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, co-chaired the 1st Cambodia-Croatia Political Consultations with His Excellency Frano Matušić, State Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, in Zagreb, Croatia. The meeting discussed intensively, aiming at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries and addressing issues of common interest and concern. During his stay in Zagreb, on November 4, 2024, His Excellency Khuon Phon Rattanak also met with Mr. Denis Vukorepa, Executive Director of Rijeka Port, to discuss the potential for port-to-port connectivity between the two countries, followed by a visit to the port of Rijeka.
