Cambodia Visas: What You Need to Know
To enter Cambodia, most travelers require a visa unless you are from one of the visa-exempt countries. Not sure which visa to apply for? Visit our Visa Types page for guidance.
Following are the three options for obtaining a Cambodia visa:
If you live in Germany, we recommend applying for your visa through the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin, where you can receive personalized assistance and choose between in-person or postal application options.
Visit the Embassy with the required documents during office hours (please check for public holiday closures). No appointment is required. Please bring the following:
■ Visa Application Form: Download, fill out, and print, or you can obtain the form at the Embassy and complete it on-site (filling out the form should take only about 5 to 10 minutes).
■ Original Passport: The visa sticker will be affixed to your passport.
■ One Photo (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm): Taken within the last 6 months (Affix it to the form above).
■ Visa Fee: Payment is accepted in cash only. If needed, you may also make a bank transfer and present proof of transfer at the Embassy.
Processing Time: 3 working days.
If you are unable to visit the Embassy, you may apply by post. The visa will be processed within three working days after receiving your passport. Send the following documents to the Embassy:
■ Completed Visa Application Form: Download, fill out, and print.
■ Original Passport: The visa sticker will be affixed to your passport.
■ One Photo (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm): Taken within the last 6 months (affixed to the form).
■ Proof of Bank Transfer: The transfer purpose/description should be listed as “Visa: [Last Name, First Name].”
■ Return Envelope: Include a self-addressed, stamped return envelope.
Visa Fee Payment: Please transfer the visa fee (Visa T=40euro, Visa E=45 euro) to:
■ Bank Name: Deutsche Bank AG Berlin/Branch 701 |
Important Note: The Embassy is not liable for delays or losses caused by postal services. We recommend using registered mail (e.g., Registered Mail Standard or a higher service). If you would like us to purchase the return envelope on your behalf, you can include the fee (for registered mail or a higher service) with the visa fee transfer, and we will assist with handling the return mailing for you.
Incomplete applications or missing documents will not be processed. Additional documents may be requested at the consular officer's discretion. Therefore, it's always important to write your phone number and/or email correctly and clearly.
If you are unable to visit the Embassy and prefer not to apply by post, you may choose to apply for an e-Visa. This allows you to apply online through the official website of Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (In this case, the Embassy has no control over it). Please visit the official e-Visa website here to check all the details and apply.
Important! Although you can leave Cambodia via any of the border crossings, regardless of the type of visa you hold, not all entry points accept e-Visas. You can check the border crossings here.
Obtaining a VoA for Cambodia is simple and risk-free, as it does not involve the use of a third party. Simply arrive at any international border or entry point (including river crossings and all airports) with the following:
■ Valid passport (with at least six months’ validity from your date of entry to Cambodia)
■ One completed application form (available on arrival at the VoA desk)
■ Two passport-sized photographs of yourself, taken no more than one year ago
■ Visa fee (to be paid in US dollars)
