Cambodia Visas: What You Need to Know

To enter Cambodia, most travelers require a visa unless you are from one of the visa-exempt countries. Not sure which visa to apply for? Visit our Visa Types page for guidance.

There are three options for obtaining a Cambodia visa:

OPTION 1: Apply for a Visa at the Embassy

At the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin, you can apply in person or by post.

1.1. In-Person Application

Visit the Embassy with the required documents during office hours (please check for public holiday closures). No appointment is required. Please bring:

Visa Application Form: Please download the form, fill it out digitally, and print it. Alternatively, you may print the blank form and complete it by hand. Both options are acceptable. Don’t have a printer? You can obtain the form at the Embassy and complete it on-site (about 5–10 minutes).
One Photo (3.5 cm × 4.5 cm): Taken within the last 6 months (only one photo required for the form).
Original Passport: The visa sticker will be affixed to your passport.
Visa Fee: Payment is accepted in cash only. If needed, you may make a quick bank transfer on-site and present proof of transfer to the consular officer.

1.2. Postal Application

If you are unable to visit the Embassy, you may apply by post. Please send the following documents to the Embassy:

Visa Application Form: Download the form, fill it out digitally, and print it. Alternatively, print the blank form and fill it out by hand. Both options are acceptable.
One Photo (3.5 cm × 4.5 cm): Taken within the last 6 months (only one photo required for the form).
Original Passport: The visa sticker will be affixed to your passport.
Proof of Bank Transfer: The transfer purpose/description should be “Visa: [Last Name, First Name]”.
Return Envelope: Include a self-addressed, stamped return envelope. Please read the guideline HERE.

Visa Fee Payment: Please transfer the visa fee to:

Visa Fees: Tourist Visa (T) = €40, Business/Ordinary Visa (E) = €45

Incomplete applications or missing documents will not be processed. Additional documents may be requested at the consular officer’s discretion. Please make sure to write your phone number and/or email clearly.

The processing time for all types of visas is three (3) working days, provided that all required supporting documents are complete. Please note this does not include postal delivery time if you apply by post.

OPTION 2: Apply for an e-Visa

If you are unable to visit the Embassy and prefer not to apply by post, you may apply for an e-Visa. Please check details and apply here.

OPTION 3: Obtain a Visa on Arrival (VoA)

If the two options above are not suitable for you, you may obtain a Visa on Arrival (VoA) at any international border or entry point. However, there have been occasional reports of airline staff denying boarding to travelers without proper documents. To avoid any inconvenience, please ensure that you submit the e-Arrival form in advance (7 days before arrival in Cambodia) and keep the e-Arrival QR code ready to present when requested.

Now that you know the available options for obtaining a Cambodia visa, the choice is yours. However, if it is convenient for you to visit the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin, we highly recommend applying in person to ensure you have everything prepared before starting your worry-free journey.
